I am excited, thrilled and honored to receive these two very special awards from fellow bloggers.  I received the first one, The Versatile Blogger, from Melissa at thehungryartist.  Her blog features inviting foods and desserts, and beautiful photographs.  Her Rich Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting is on my “will bake soon” list!  Thank you, so very much, Melissa, for sharing this award with me, and please accept my apology for the delay in posting this.

I received the Beautiful Blogger Award from at350degrees.  You will find many inspiring recipes for delicious desserts there, and I’m certain that her Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies will appear on my Christmas Cookie tray this year.  (I cannot believe that this young lady is still in high school.  Her blog and her baked goods are lovely.)

Here are the award rules:

  1. Copy the Beautiful Blogger Award logo and place it in your post.
  2. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  3. Tell 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate 7 other bloggers for their own Beautiful Blogger Award, and comment on their blogs to let them know.

So, here are 7 facts about me:

1.  I provide care for teachers’ children by day, and I bake, sew, knit, crochet and blog by night.  Since the teachers are off for the summer, I am too.  (woo-hoo!)

2.  I love all things retro…especially stuff from the 50’s.

3.  I collect Christmas Tree pins, old and new, and have nearly 200 of them hanging on my dining room wall in two beautiful frames.

4.  I’d much rather bake than cook.

5.  My Canon Rebel t2i is one of the BEST gifts I have EVER received.  (If you’re my friend, you know “the story”)

6.  I pretend to be humble when people oooh and aaaah over my cookies, but I really love the feedback.

7.  I have a huge crush on Toby Keith.

And 7 bloggers you should check out:

Pillows A-La-Mode, Hawthorne Threads, crayons and milk, ediblesubstance, crochetagain, A lot on your plate, italian dish knits

Special thanks to all who take the time to read and comment on this blog…you make my heart sing 😉

Congrats and thanks for the blog sites. I have one to share with you that I found quite by accident. It’s “agardenforthe house”. Lots of neat garden tips and recipes. When you see your aunt Linda, tell her that I said hello!

    • Ann says:

Thanks, Rosemarie! I’m not much of a gardener, but I will definitely check out those recipes. And I’ll certainly share your greetings with Linda. Hope your summer is filled with lots of great knitting!

You continue to inspire us all in so many special ways!! Congratulations on your blogger awards and kudos to you both!!

    • Ann says:

Thank you, Linda. Without your support and encouragement, there might not have been a “Big A, little a”

CONGRATULATIONS on your well-deserved awards, and how sweet of you to include Pillows A-La-Mode in your “check it out” list! 🙂 The beautiful button you shared is now in my sidebar with a big THANK YOU and link to your lovely site! I appreciate you! 🙂 Best, Katherine

    • Ann says:

You are so very welcome, Katherine. Kudos to you for finding so many ways to express your creativity and inspire others. I was happy to share that award with you and I can see (from your sidebar) that I am not alone in believing that your blog is special, indeed 😉

Congratulations from the Pacific Time Zone! It’s good to hear the blogosphere recognizes what your friends already know — you are awesome!

  5. Carol says:

You deserve this Ann! I have to admit, your blog is the only one I go to (except for Skinnytaste), but I will be sure to check out these other sites. Can’t do it now though b/c I am going to your “Grandma’s Roasted Red Peppers” recipe at the moment! Those beautiful peppers I bought yesterday are staring at me and need some attention!

    • Ann says:

      Ahhhh…those 99 cents-a-pound peppers!! (I am jealous)

Thanks for the kind words and your ongoing support, Carol. It means a lot 😉
