These have got to be one of the easiest Halloween treats to impress those little trick-or-treaters!  All you need:  pretzel rods, Wilton candy melts (available in JoAnn’s, Michaels, etc.), and some pretty little colorful sprinkles.  Just follow the package directions for melting the chocolate, dip the pretzel rods and sprinkle immediately.  Ta-dah!  (Works well with mini-twist pretzels too!)

I was invited to a pumpkin carving party this past weekend.  I had my Pumpkin Masters template ready to go…a highly detailed, somewhat scary witch with a pointed hat and ghoulish grin.  I hollowed out the pumpkin, cut the circle for the light, and was just about to prepare my witch when it was announced that this would be a “friendly” competition, and the judge would be the adorable little 2 1/2 year-old, Addison.  Well, if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s how a 2 1/2 year-old child thinks, and there was no way that Addison would choose a scary witch as her favorite.  However…..a sweeeeet little kitty named, coincidentally of course, Addison, just might catch her eye and be the winning jack-o-lantern :o)

Not.

No prize for me.

So much for thinking like a 2 1/2 year old.  (Who needed an attractive jar of Halloween Trail Mix anyway.)

Happy Halloween!

I LOVE the pretzels! I’m going to make them for my office! Where did you get the great sprinkles? I’m going to try to follow yours as closely as possible. Thanks Aunt Annie–they are totally excellent!

I bought the chocolate and the sprinkles at JoAnn’s. You can find great supplies at any store that sells Wilton. (I hear WalMart carries it too!). Have fun, sweetie, and let me know how they turn out!
