I needed a quick-knit to go along with a sweet, navy blue, Ralph Lauren winter snowsuit that I was presenting as a baby shower gift. Since newborns photographed in stocking caps are all over Pinterest, I thought this pattern would be a great choice. It’s in the book Itty Bitty Hats by Susan B. Anderson, which has so many great kids hat patterns. But, if you’re not inclined to buy it, there are many similar patterns available for free on Ravelry (gotta love Ravelry ;-).
The yarn is Nature’s Choice Organic Cotton Yarn by Lion Brand, which is soooo soft!
Can’t wait to see a pix* of Thomas in his little stocking cap, and I’ll be sure to update this post when I do.

The hat is going to look sooo cute on the little sweetie. The softness of the yarn even comes through in the photo!
Smilles, DianeM 🙂
The baby is due in November, so we’ll have to wait a month or so before we can get a picture. Thanks for the comment!

This stocking cap is beautiful! What kind of yarn did you use for this? I want to make my daughter a similar cap for Christmas, but I am not very experienced in knitting.
I used Lion Brand Nature’s Choice Organic Cotton Yarn. This is a relatively easy cap to knit, so you do not need a lot of experience…just knit and purl, and some decreases. You can do this! 😉 Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.
Happy holidays,
Ann
