“Dreamy Lace Baby Throw” is the name of the Lion Brand pattern that I used for this sweet little baby blanket, which I found on Ravelry. I was looking for a quick and easy pattern that was pretty, worked up quickly, and was easily committed to memory. Check. Check. Check.
The blanket is made of shell clusters consisting of 5 double crochets, with two double crochet stitches and a chain between each cluster. If you crochet, you know that it doesn’t get too much easier than that. If you do NOT crochet, and you’re interested in learning, the stitch for this blanket can be mastered in no time. There’s a great tutorial for making the double crochet here on Youtube.
The original pattern called for a two-row border, but I chose to do just the shells:
This just might be my new baby girl “go-to” gift!

Oh, to be the lucky little girls who are on the receiving ends of the talents of Big A and little a!
I can make this blanket for adult girls, too. Maybe in purple???

This is adorable – I love it!
Thanks, Leah! It’s really such a sweet little blanket.

How precious! This pattern would be lovely in an organic cotton, what yarn did you use?
Organic cotton would be a GREAT choice. The yarn I used was Ornaghi Filati Oslo, made in Italy. It is a 50% merino, 50% acrylic blend, which I chose because it was soft and washable.
When I make it again, I’ll certainly look at the organic cottons. Let me know how yours turns out, if you decide to give it a try.

Thanks, Diane…and this really was E-Z!! I was skeptical, at first, that it might not be fancy enough, but what a pleasant surprise.
Have a nice day –
