My niece, Diane. has had a true love for horses since the age of 5, when she enjoyed her first pony ride.   Throughout the years, she has taken endless riding lessons, mucked many stalls, and done just about anything she could to remain close and helpful to these beautiful animals.

One year, for Christmas, I made quilted tote bags for the young ladies on my list.  I selected theme prints and embellishments that would help make the bags personal and unique to each recipient, and I found, what I thought, was the perfect combo for rootin’ tootin’ Diane.  I hoped that she would love it, but I never imagined that, after years of daily use, she would love it enough to reinforce the well-worn handles with Duck tape and continue using it in its threadbare state.  Time for a new tote, Diane.

The fabric, “From the Hip“, is an Alexander Henry design, and I combined features from a few different tote patterns to create this bag.

Diane is a beautiful and fascinating young woman, living her dream with her favorite cowboy in Longmont, Colorado.  She works hard on the ranch and volunteers countless hours at Colorado Horse Rescue, where she loves, cares for, and nurtures the equines sheltered there.

Enjoy the replacement, Diane, and save the Duck tape for some creative fun :o)

Happy trails!

Thank you SO SO much!! To A and a, I am truly so proud of this blog site, and even more so to be family. I have loved dearly every one of my cowgirl bags, and this one will be no different. Just say the word and I’ll sell them for you. I always have people admiring them, duct tape and all.

I love you both and look forward to seeing you in a few months. In the meantime, thank you for every stitch of support you have given me along the way.
    Love,

Aunt Annie, I absolutely adore my pink and red florally printed bag with rhinestones … I use it to carry yarn when I’m going somewhere and want to bring the crocheting along.

Thank you for always being so kind and thoughtful, and loving us all for our differences.

    Love, Sas
