As a young girl, I was always fascinated when my dear, Italian grandma would fumble through her huge pocketbook and pull out her little leather change purse. It had to weigh 2 lbs. and was stuffed with quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. As we walked along the city streets, we’d always stop at the “candy store”, have an Egg Cream, and leave with a bag of m&m’s for me. As grandma was paying, I’d hear her say, “I gotta the change”, and she’d dig down and grab that chubby little pouch.
When I saw this pattern on Ravelry, nostalgia got the better of me and I hit the “buy now” button. Honestly, I’m not sorry that I did. It was easy enough to crochet and I found the purse frames at JoAnn’s…and the cotton yarns in my collection were plentiful to choose from. The pattern is Candy Stripe Crochet Purse, and you can buy it through Ravelry or at the website here.
Cute size, cute shape and functional. Will I actually use it? I’ma no so sure.
